The Green Bay Packers signed first-year starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a contract extension through the 2014 season on Friday. Rodgers was the Packers’ first-round pick in 2005 but didn’t get his shot at starting until Brett Favre retired in the offseason. Favre then abruptly unretired and was traded to the New York Jets.

New York Jets linebacker David Harris was listed Friday as doubtful for the team’s game at Buffalo this weekend with a strained groin. Harris, who leads the Jets with 52 tackles, didn’t practice all week after leaving in the second quarter of the Jets’ 28-24 victory over Kansas City on Sunday. As he had the previous two days, Harris rode a stationary bike during the time the media are allowed to watch.
